Monday, Sept. 06, 2004 - 10:41 p.m. Taiwan Costs..... Photos..... Q&A Well, this weekend turned out to be a "stuff your face" variety. Ugh! Greek food one night and all you can eat Japanese BBQ last night. My friend K. kept putting 5 things on my plate and one on hers. It all looked so amazing I didnt notice nor complain til it was too late. And I already felt bloated. Ugh! Was so craving fresh, tasty food I over did it a trillion times over. today I could not even touch the rice that came with my lunch. It is actually a good thing that this weekend happened like that, cause it prepared me for when I get home next week. Have to pace myself with the things I havent eaten in forever. Its easier at home though, cause you can eat a lot of veggies in rests. Here veggies are scarce, and the ones you can order are covered in more oil than my face after driving my scooter here for a couple of hours! ewwwwwwww VERY anti-climatic (sp?) last Monday at at work. The classes I had today were ones I have not had for long, so I am not really attached to these kids, and vice versa. Friday will be the hardest I think. Who knows. Its nice to think I may never teach kids again. Ever. Happy sigh.
Am really quite annoyed right now. I posted an add for the last of my for sale items. I have loads of tampons left over. I had tons shipped over cause they are expensive and hard to find here. And I dont need to bring them back with me. And some idiot (man) emailed me directly to call me a cheap bitch. Unreal. I know its not a common moving sale item, but this is NOT a common place. This is fucking hell right now. Its moments like this that I wonder why I fucking stayed here this long. Am fuming mad right now, he just emailed me again. One more and his email address is going on here. I really hate stupid people. Must calm down and write a normal post. Breathe, breathe.
Heres are two examples of the locals being "too helpful." Yes, there is such a thing. 1. On that Bookcrossing site I posted that I left a book to be picked up at one of my regular internet cafes. And I left it there one day. I thought it was the equiv of someone leaving a book on a park bench or a certain corner of a rest. Kinda fun and playful way of finding a free book. But when I walked into the internet cafe the next day they gave the book back to me. lol. So I took it and thanked them, of course. I'd rather have people be too helpful then not helpful enough, but oi! (I then left the book on a chair at a Starbucks I dont go to often. lol.) I just want someone to be pleasantly surprised when they see it. 2. I am used to and appreciate hostels being self service. If you make a mess, you clean it. Period. But its not like that in this hostel I am in. Instead of cleaning the floors (I get black stuff on my feet when not wearing shoes), they feel the need to come in and :
* put the remote for the AC back in its holder on the wall instead of on top of the TV, where I have it. (thats all of 1 foot away, but easier for me to reach.) I need to mention that I am the only person in this room, and have been since I got there. Even so, my stuff DOES NOT venture out into the other areas of the room. In that case I would understand these tiny moving-arounds. But they dont. And it feels pretty damn intrusive to have stuff moved around DAILY.
