Flashback: Me the day I flew back from my Eastern European and Scotland trip, April 2003.

Tired as all hell. Think I got about 2 hours sleep before my cell (borrowed for last 2 weeks) went off. The outlet it was in worked for the TV, but not for the cell charger. Um, ok. So it started beeping like mad. (low battery). Ugh. That was abotu 6am. Couldnt fall back to sleep.

Its good in a way really. I still have a few dr appts I wanna go to before I leave. Way cheaper here, and I have insurance. My faith in the effectiveness is not strong, but as long as no more damage is done to me than I am game.

Found an incredible solution for getting rid of books. Its called Bookcrossing.

http://www.bookcrossing.com/

I am used to exchanging books at hostels, expat rests and more. But this is a step above all that. A fucking brilliant idea I wish I thought of!

You register the book and any description you like, where the book is and where you are "realeasing" it. I just registered my first 4 books. One I am leaving at this internet cafe. When you register the books, you get a number. You put this number with their label in front of the book so that when the next person gets the book they can see whos had it. Tracking good karma gift giving. Its makes me all warm and fuzzy inside really.

I dont have much time left on the computer now. Shoot. Still getting showered at work with gifts from my students. Its incredibly sweet, but they are giving me things that I just cant travel with. I am finding good homes for the things, but its truly amazing to come back to my desk between classes and see yet another gift sitting there. Awwwwwwwwwww!

PS I dont recommend the hostel I am staying at, so I am NOT adding their info to my links or cost page.
