Sitting in the grimiest internet cafe in the world. ewwwwwww. Bet I will have weird stains on my khakis when I get up. IF I can get up. Think sticky. ewwww.

Yesterdays change in classes kicked my ass in more ways than I ever imagined. The first class was a Baby/intro class. 8 4 year olds. None of which wanted to pay attention to anything other than each other. I had our fab new assistant teacher there, which helped, but these kids were making me crazy!

The next class was an advanced class, the kids were about 12 years old. 23 of them in one class. I have a few classes this size normally, so was ready for the fast pace. But what I wasnt ready for was the noise! They were so rambunctuous (sp?)! Usually as you get up in levels the kids start looking too cool for school bored, not bouncing off the walls.

And they were testing my like high school kids do to subs. I didnt give in though, freaks. I was def ready to hurt someone by the time class was over. At the beginning of class there were three boys in the front row who were talking and climbing over each others chairs and showing each other goddess knows what from their bookbags to each other. Unreal. Scoulding from a new teacher didnt help, so I had to take away stamps (usually the kiss of death), but they seemed proud to have made this happen.

Then I saw a few of the kids out and out copying work from their neighbors. They had their friends papers on their left and their papers right in front of them. When I pointed and shook my head they just smiled, but kept writing. oi! I took the papers away of course, but how cheeky that they dont even care that I caught them cheating.

On one level it was a fun class cause there was this high energy, but then the crap they were trying to pull and the sheer lack of respect for the fact that they were NOT in an internet cafe were enough for my hair to fall out right there.

Today is my long day, I start at 2pm and finish at 9. I could easily finish later, grading and whatnot. But tonight they are screening an internet downloaded version of Fahrenheit 911 at a local bar-AND I AM SOOOOOOOOOO EXCITED. But first I have to unstick myself from this seat and get lunch.
